Cebuana jin bags gold in PNG

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuana jin Nica Garces made up from her misfortunes in the Palarong Pambansa by winning gold in this year's PSC-POC Philippine National Games at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

Garces, a Philippine junior team member, put up a good fight all throughout the tournament to dominate the junior flyweight division.

Three other Cebu bets under coach Michael Angelo Realista and Frauline Joy Coran also bagged medals via the kyurogi discipline.

Carmela Coran and James Callino won silver medals in the junior bantamweight and finweight division, respectively, while Marie Hanz Therese Espina settled for bronze in the junior light middleweight class. — (FREEMAN)
