Rama dartfest unfurls tonight at Baseline

CEBU, Philippines - New faces will mix it up with the veterans as the 4th Mayor Mike L. Rama Inter-Barangay Darts Tournament kicks off tonight at the Baseline Sports and Recreation Center.

The Cebu City Hall Employees Darters Association (CHEDA)-organized event features four classes - classified draw doubles and triples, youth singles and open doubles.

The participants will play in a 501-format. The preliminary round is a best-of-five series for all the categories that will be contested except for the youth division, which is only best-of-three.

The   final matches in the classified doubles and triples are a best-of-seven affair, the youth best-of-five and the open singles a best-of-nine battle.

Cash prizes await the top eight players in all categories.

Although it's only an inter-barangay contest, the competitors are reminded to wear proper dress code. That means no caps, sandos, slippers, sandals, collarless shirt and shorts are allowed in the entire duration of the tournament.
