7th ECCP Football Cup set this Sunday

CEBU, Philippines - The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines invites companies to take part in the 7th ECCP Football Cup set this Sunday at the Cebu International School.

Interested companies should form a team with a minimum of seven and a maximum of 15 players and should include all professional levels in the company, from CEO to messenger. This is part of the chamber’s campaign to promote the increasingly popular sport and encourage strong ties between companies and among the employees of the participating firms.

The day’s festivities will also include minor events - a camaraderie photo contest and the ECCPep cheer contest, which are aimed to enliven the spirit of everyone and further strengthen the bond of the people from the different firms.

It will surely be an exciting and fruitful event for the players, and supporters from the companies.

ECCP is fully aware that there have been integrity concerns surrounding inter-company football, specifically regarding eligibility of non-employee players. As a sign of the organization’s commitment to integrity, all registered players must be current employees of the registered company team, and this must be verified by official certificates of employment. In addition, all coaches will be briefed on the importance of ethical sportsmanship before the event.

ECCP stands by the need for honesty and integrity in sports, as an implementing body of the Integrity Initiative campaign. It will be a day filled with sports, food, and networking.

For registration and further details, one may contact Hannah Cusi (hannah.cusi@eccp.com) or call (032) 254-3765, or 412- 6702.

The event is co-presented by A. Suarez Sterling Corporation and Habagat in association with Havaianas, Virginia Foods Inc., Perpetual Succour Hospital, St. James Water and Nature’s Spring (PSWRI). (FREEMAN)
