Vanese Justine vs. GCM in FYA finals
CEBU, Philippines - Vanese Justine stunned the top seeded MBD Law Office in overtime, 94-89, while GCM demolished Harold's Hotel, 70-55, to set up a title showdown in the 5th F. Llamas Youth Association (FYA) basketball tournament at the barangay Tisa gym.
Chrissar Llegunas topscored for Vanese Justine with 22 points highlighted by a three-point play that sent the game into overtime.
Llegunas was heavily backed up by Duke Teves and Jaz Sydiongco, who conspired for 41 points that brought so much damage on the MBD side.
Daniel Enriquez led MBD with 31 points, while Tata Laborte and Baeng Medalle had 14 markers each in a losing effort.
On the other hand, Ejohn Fernandez and Edot Fernandez finished with 35 points combined for GCM, which will face Vanese Justine in the sudden-death final on October 1.
