Villagonzalo sizzles as Autolab goes 3-0 in Sunrisers cagefest

CEBU, Philippines - Mark Villagonzalo exploded with a game-high 27 points highlighted by the go-ahead basket in Autolab's hard-earned 69-63 victory over Honeygrace in the continuing action of the 2012 Sunrisers Basketball Tournament at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Sports Complex in Brgy. Mike Sereno added 18 points as Autolab masterfully overhauled a 20-point deficit to turn back Honeygrace and firm up its grip of the overall lead with an immaculate 3-0 record.

After getting off to a blistering 19-7 start, Honeygrace was in command for most part of the game.

They kept a six-point edge with still five minutes left to play, but Autolab staged a daring counter-attack to wrest the driver's seat on Villagonzalo's jumper at the final 1:11 mark of the contest.

In the ensuing play, Villagonzalo made a crucial steal to complete Autloab's great escape. Overall in the final period, Autolab outpointed Honeygrace, 27-15.

In the other match, Oliver Sanoy sparkled with 31 points as JS Contractor pummeled Radisson Blu, 74-64, for its second straight win in as many starts.
