SHS-Ateneo bags boys 17 title Outlasts Springdale in San Roque footballfest

CEBU, Philippines - After failing in its title campaign in the players 9 division, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu bounced back with savvy to clinch the championship in the boys 17 category of the 3rd San Roque 9-a-side Football Tournament at San Roque Football field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

SHS-Ateneo did not allow PAREF-Springdale from grabbing another crown after pulling off a close 1-0 victory in their final encounter.

It was a sweet redemption of sort for SHS-Ateneo, which lost to Barili FC in the players 9 finale last week.

Springdale did not go home empty-handed though as it bagged the champion's trophy in the boys 12 category.

On the other hand, the Mandaue Technological Institute (MTI) captured the boys 15-under plum at the expense Danao Football Club, 1-0. - THE FREEMAN
