Almario bags title of CCC June tilt

CEBU, Philippines - Carl Almario fired the lowest gross in the June Monthly Medal Tournament of Cebu Country Club the other weekend.

Almario fired identical nines of 36 strokes for a round of even-par 72.

The class A title went to Jon Joseph Alvarez with a net score of 66 strokes off a gross two-over-par 74.

Runner-up honors went to Tadashi Ochiai with a net score of 70 strokes off a gross 77. He edged George Hong and Kiddy Limchao, Jr. for the award.

The class B title went to Yoichi Masuda with a net score of 66 strokes. Runner-up honors went to Andrew Parrott with a net score of 68 beating Manuel Dy, Jr. and Michael Go in the countback.

Steve Alcoseba took the class C plum with a tournament-best net score of 64 strokes. Runner-up honors went to Gigi Garcia with a net score of 65.

Fruto Teodorico topped class D with a net score of 73 while Dave Griffin took the runner-up honors with a net 76.

Francis Zosa ruled the seniors' division with his net score of 69 while Robin Craze finished as runner-up with his net 70.

The guest division title went to Ray Gibbs with a net score of 74 while Akira Hatano was the runner-up with his net 75. — NLQ (THE FREEMAN)
