Don Bosco Run, PLDT-Smart 10 Miler this weekend

CEBU, Philippines - Kids and young at heart alike will showcase their running wares today, while a tougher run takes place tomorrow via the PLDT-Smart 10 Miler at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Today, the Don Bosco Fun Run will be staged at Don Bosco Technology Center in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.

    At Don Bosco, around 1, 200 runners are expected to see action in five classes - grades 4 to 6 in the elementary level, first to second year high school, third to fourth year and the men’s and women’s open.

Chaired by football coach Glenn Ramos, the event is among the highlights of DBTC’s 57th Founder’s Day celebration.

On the other hand, at least 2,400 fitness buffs will take part in the inaugural PLDT-Smart 10 Miler at the CCSC grounds. The race lengths to be contested are the 16K, 5K and 3K.

    Meanwhile, the Pan de Manila Kiddy Run scheduled today has been moved to March 5 due to bad weather still at the Banilad Town Centre.

      The categories to be featured are the mites for eight years old and below, peewee for 9-10 years old and mini for 11-12 years old.

The winners in each class will receive medals plus some goodies from race sponsors that include Adidas Sports Depot, Pancake House and Tutoring Club at BTC.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
