M. Lhuillier caging shifts to Cogon-Ramos gym today

-

CEBU, Philippines - Exciting hardcourt action in the 1st M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Cup basketball tournament resumes today with an exciting triple-header on tap at the Cogon-Ramos gym.

The 24/7 Convenience Store will take on the star-studded Binglens squad in the main game at 8:30 pm, right after the opening battle between the Asian College of Technology (ACT) Cyber Knights and ADI Sportswear of Lapu-Lapu City at 7 pm.

An explosive showdown is expected between 24/7 Convenience Store against the Binglens featuring former collegiate stars against commercial veterans.

24/7 is bannered by Mark Abadia, a PBL standout who once played for Adamson University in the UAAP. He will play alongside former USC Warriors Vernini Tangarorang and Mark Ignatius Loyola.

For sure, they will face a tall order against the formidable Binglens force powered by Michael Dumdum, Michael Almonte, and Max Delantes, who all have vast experiences in the commercial circuit.

Tournament director and M. Lhuillier marketing manager Michael Roma said the tournament follows a single round robin format with the top four teams advancing into the crossover semifinals. The winners will then clash for the championship.

The champion in the month-long tilt bankrolled by the M. Lhuillier Group of Companies will receive a whopping P50,000, while the second and third will pocket P30,000 and P15,000, respectively. The fourth placer will get a consolation prize of P5,000. —EBV (THE FREEMAN)
