Ilocanos in Cebu organize first Fun Run

For the first time in Cebu, a group of Ilocanos are initiating a fun run dubbed as the “Ilocanos and Friends Fun Run” this Sunday at the Cebu Provincial Capitol grounds.

Although it is being called a fun run, local running enthusiasts will surely take the event seriously as close to P50,000 in cash prizes are up for grabs.

Event organizer Timpuyog Ken Saranay Ilocano Association Incorporated led by its president Aida Limas has divided the race into three categories: 10K, 5K, and 3K.

The 10K run will have the men and women’s open, executives, masters A and B.

The 5K action will have the men and women’s class, 5K MEPZ men and women, while the 3K will feature boys and girls divisions for runners aged 12 years old and below.

The top 10 finishers in the 10K and the top five in the 5K and 3K run will receive cash prizes, while the top performers in the executives category will be awarded with medals.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
