SEAG Chefs de Mission here to inspect venues

Thirty seven Chefs de Mission will arrive on Monday to assess the venues and security for Cebu's co-hosting of the 23rd Southeast Asian Games on November 25 to December 5.

The first stop of the delegation will be to visit the SEAG venues namely Mandaue Sports Complex, Waterfront Hotel-Lahug, University of San Carlos Gym and Cebu Coliseum. They will make final assessment of the venues.

The Chefs de Mission who are set to arrive are Haji Abdul Rahman and Anthony Lee (Singapore), Antonio Ximenes (Timor Leste), Gen. Yuthasak Sasiprapha, Preeda Rodpothong, and Thana Chaiprasit (Thailand), Nguyen Hong Minh (Vietnam), Bun Yi Prum (Cambodia), Djoko Pramono, Budi Rustanto, Graito Usodo, Ahmed Solihin, Leane Manurung, Arie Saminarto Sutopo, Dody Iswandi and Henry Ridwan (Indonesia), Somphou Phongsa and Sengphone Phon Amath (Laos), Low Beng Choo, MP Haridas, Erick Ahmad Shapawi Ismail (Malaysia), Thaung Htike and Kyaw Soe Myint (Myanmar), Philippine Sports Commission chairman William "Butch" Ramirez, Cong. Harry Angping, Commissioner Joey Mundo, Carlos Tuason, Gen. Mario Tanchangco, Tessa Mangahas, Nestor Ilagan, Red Dumuk, Ann Marie Enad, Olive Malabanan and Ronwald Puntilar (Philippines).

Also included in their itinerary is to visit the hotels where the athletes and officials will be billeted.

Accommodation for dancesport delegates will be at the Waterfront Hotel-Lahug, sepak takraw at the Golden Peak Hotel, pencak silat at the Cebu Grand Hotel and judo and karatedo at the Crown Regency Hotel.

CebuSoc will also entertain suggestions from the foreign delegates to ensure a successful co-hosting of the SEAG.

Proper arrangements had already been coordinated with the Philippine National Police for the arrival and security of the foreign delegates today while a Chef de Mission meeting will also take place at the Casino Filipino plenary hall in Parañaque.

Philippine SEAG Organizing Committee (PhilSOC) Secretary General Steve Hontiveros will preside the meeting in behalf of its president Peping Cojuangco, who is currently in Geneva, Switzerland for a crucial meeting with officials of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
