Colonnade Supermarket endured double overtime to stun defending champion St. Therese Pawnshop, 112-119, while J&B routed Ferraren Designed Contractors, 100-93, also in extra period. Colonnade could have won it in regulation if not for Saint Therese' Alfred Lim who banged in two free throws in the last eight seconds, which sent the game to its first overtime, 98-all.
A clutch basket from Richard Abella of Saint Therese in the dying seconds locked up the game for the second time for a 105-standoff.
But St. Therese lost its steam in the second overtime with Ruel Sumalinog and Onnie Co taking over in the pivotal period, finishing with 25 and 24 points, respectively.
Opong Atillo and Chito Hernandez, on the other hand, tallied 26 and 23 markers for St. Therese.
On the other hand, a booming triple by Andy Fuentes of Ferraren Contractors sent the game to an 84-all deadlock but brothers Keith and Art Arellano led J&B's carnage by scoring 34 and 24 points to outgun Ferraren Contractors.
With the wins, Colonnade and J&B shared the leaderboard with identical 2-0 win loss card.
