CEBU, Philippines — The Danao City government and the Bureau of Fire Protection have inaugurated a state-of-the-art fire station building.

The city's fire service department received a generous boost, with a P25 million budget from the national headquarters of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Adding to this, the 1,156-square-meter lot was provided by the city government, which has paved the way for an upgraded and strategically located facility.

Danao City Vice Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III, in his message, underscored the unique synergy between local and national government agencies emphasizing the need for collaboration to optimize the delivery of essential services.

“Today's event is a testament to the dynamic relationship between the Danao City local government unit and the national agency – the Bureau of Fire Protection," Durano said.

“Here in Danao we will always welcome you with open arms, for there is no better use for our city-owned lot than to make it the site of our city’s Fire Station…Truly, this upgrade would be beneficial to the people of Danao. On our end, may the humble contribution of the city government prove useful in your commitment to serving the people of Danao," the vice mayor added.

Meanwhile, the city government continues to give financial assistance to its 14 barangays.

This year alone, as of October 3, the city government has already disbursed a total of P12.5 million to support grassroots initiatives and address their diverse needs and priorities.

“This financial assistance underscores the city's commitment to local development and the well-being of the Danawanon community,” the city government said. — (FREEMAN)
