Carmen town mayor is richest in province

CEBU, Philippines —  Carmen Mayor Martin Gerard Villamor is the richest among Cebu town mayors, based on his Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) for 2017.

Villamor has a net worth of P87.55 million—P65.5 million in real properties and P22.1 million in personal properties. He declared no liabilities.

The net worth or actual wealth is computed on the value of one’s total assets minus total liabilities.

His personal properties include Hyundai Eon, dump truck, cash in bank, jewelry, and investment. He also has several real properties, including lots.

His business interests and financial connections are River Aquarius Marketing located and Real State Leasor with offices in Cogon West and Luyang, both in Carmen.

Second in the list is San Fernando Mayor Lakambini Reluya with P67.3 million in net worth.

She declared P67.7 million of total assets and liabilities amounting to P372,227.

Her businesses include RST Regan Enterprise, YIF Trading Enterprise, and Regen Rice Mill.

Argao Mayor Stanley Caminero is the third richest mayor in Cebu with a net worth of P23 million.

His total asset is P29.62 million and liabilities amounting to P6.57 million.

Following Caminero is Dumanjug Mayor Efren Guntrano Gica and Compostela Mayor Joel Quito each with P16 million net worth.

Of the top five millionaires, Caminero has the most number of relatives working in the government with five.

Other millionaires based on net worth are Barili Mayor Marlon Garia (P9.7 million), Bantayan Mayor Ian Christopher Escario (P9 million), Minglanilla Mayor Elanito Peña (P5.1 million), Catmon Mayor Dan Jusay (P3.5 million), Tudela Mayor Erwin Yu (P1.8 million), Alcantara Mayor Beatriz Caburnay (P1.6 million), and Pilar Mayor Eufracio Maratas Sr. (P1.5 million).

Among the non-millionaires is Aloguinsan Mayor Cesare Ignatius Moreno with a net worth of P579,523.

The officials’ SALNs were recently released by the anti-graft body.
