San Diego Dance Company loses over P100T to burglars
CEBU, Philippines - The famous San Diego Dance Company lost about P100,000 worth of computers to unknown burglars who broke into its office along F. Ramos Extension in Barangay Capitol Site Thursday morning.
Theft and robbery investigators found two sets of footprints, including that of a child, inside the office.
Among the items reportedly stolen were a computer CPU (Central Processing Unit), iPad, and a Mac Book with an estimated total value of P103,000.
Ruel Luna, 27, encoder of the company, discovered the burglary when he reported for work yesterday morning. Luna said he first noticed the door was already open.
Investigators, however, are baffled why some of the expensive items inside the office were left by the burglars. According to the police, it could be that the people responsible were not really professionals.
The witnesses told the police that they saw at 4 a.m. yesterday that the sliding window was already open.
The building where the San Diego Dance Company is holding office does not also have CCTV cameras.
Chief Inspector David Señor, chief of the Theft and Robbery Section, urged all business establishments in the city to mount CCTV camera or hire security guards. (FREEMAN)
