Radaza blames staff for SALN discrepancy

CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza has blamed her accountant for the discrepancy in her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth where she missed out her daughter and brother on the list of relatives working in the government.

Radaza said her accountant failed to include the details upon submission of the document to the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas. The names of Rep. Aileen Radaza and Daanbantayan Mayor Augusto Corro were not found in the mayor’s SALN.

According to Radaza’s recent SALN, she has a total net worth of P14.7 million with zero liability.

Radaza declared P3.1 million in real properties composed of two commercial land and establishments, as well as her personal properties amounting to P11.8 million.

Radaza said the figures in her SALN are true and do not need any changes. However, she will try to contact her accountant anytime this week for few amendments that will be made in order to include her congresswoman daughter and her mayor brother.

Meanwhile, Cebu City Planning and Development Coordinator, Engineer Kenneth Enriquez, is the richest among the city hall department heads and city officials with a net worth of over P82 million based on their 2013 SALN. Enriquez declared a net worth of P82.4 million with P31.5 liabilities.

Enriquez is even richer than Councilor Nestor Archival who declared a net worth of P18 million, Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella who posted P11.4 million net worth, and Mayor Michael Rama who has P4.4 million net worth.

Her assets include residential lots in Banawa, Camotes Islands, Mandaue City, Mactan Island, and Minglanilla, Cebu; commercial office and parking area in Cebu Business Park; and residential condominiums in Kasambagan, Cebu Business Park, Makati City, Las Pinas, and Tagaytay City totaling to P50.3 million.

She listed Enriquez Engineering Consultancy at Apple One Tower, Cebu Business Park as her business interest. Her husband, Apollo Seno Enriquez is the Professional Regulation Commission board chairman of Civil Engineering and Philippine Ports Authority board member representing private sector.

Enriquez has nearly P64 million personal properties, such as mini cooper worth P2.25 million, Porsche Carrera worth P1.9 million, which were acquired only last year.

She also owns 11 vehicles, including Toyota Revo worth P270,000, Toyota Innova worth close to P1 million, Toyota Prado worth around P1 million, BMW 320d worth P3.9 million, BMW X5 worth P2.2 million, Toyota Avanza 1 and 2 worth P1.6 million; Suzuki Kabbayan worth nearly P200,000 and Suzuki multi van worth over P100,000.

Apart from private vehicles, Enriquez has nearly P40 million worth of investments.

Enriquez’s assistant, Engr. Ma. Concepcion Encabo, has a net worth of P13.2 million. She declared P10.3 million real properties that include land in Consolacion, Mandaue, Lahug and Mambaling.

She also has personal and other properties amounting to more than P3 million.

In addition, Encabo owns a lumber and hardware trading in Barangay Looc, Mandaue City.

Other department heads and their net worth; City Auditor Arlene Rentuza, P3.4 million; Civil Registrar Evangeline Abatayo, P3.3 million; budget officer Marietta Gumia, P2.3 million; City Jail’s Women’s Livelihood head Fidel Magno, P1.9 million; City Engineer Atty. Jose Marie Poblete and GSO equipment repair and maintenance management head Engr.
