Jobless man, 31, killed in Mambaling
CEBU, Philippines - A 31-year-old man was shot dead by an unidentified person in Sitio Nava Alaska, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City yesterday morning.
Mario Camanzo, jobless, was sitting while playing “hantak,†an illegal toss coin game, when a lanky man wearing black jackets showed up and for still unknown reasons shot him once in the head.
Camanzo, who died on the spot, was apparently the only target as no others among the onlookers, who managed to scamper away, were hurt.
The assailant fled towards an interior portion of the place.
Christine Cortez, Camanzo’s sister-in-law, and wife Melinda could not think of a possible motive for the attack.
A responding Crime Scene Investigation Unit team of the Cebu City Police Office recovered from the crime scene a deformed slug from an unknown gun caliber.
The victim’s body was brought to Surelife Funeral Services for autopsy. The police are still investigating the incident. (BANAT NEWS)
