CEBU, Philippines - Six senatorial bets and local candidates in Cebu are expected to join the Unity for Life Prayer Rally at 4 p.m. today at the Plaza Independencia.

Dr. Rene Josef Bullecer, country director of Human Life International-Philippines said that pro-life senatorial bets who confirmed to join are JC de los Reyes and Marwill Llasos of Kapatiran Party, former senators Richard Gordon and Migs Zubiri, and San Juan City Mayor Joseph Victor "JV" Ejercito Estrada, all of the United Nationalist Alliance.

Bullecer said that for Team PNoy,  only former Las Piñas City Rep. Cynthia Villar, who was also endorsed by Catholic Conscience Vote Philippines for supporting bills that protect the interest and welfare of family while in Congress, confirmed to attend.

Villar also got an endorsement from the White Vote Movement headed by El Shaddai while Llasos and de los Reyes were also endorsed by CCVP.

Bullecer added that the event will start with a Holy Mass. Bishop Emelio Bataclan will be the main celebrant and dozens of priests are expected to concelebrate.

After the Holy Mass is the ceremonial signing of the "Covenant for Life" with the endorsed senatorial and congressional candidates.

Immediately after the signing, Bullecer said that the endorsed candidates will be prayed over for their victory in coming elections and for them to remain firm in their commitment to defend and protect life especially against abortion, divorce, gay marriages and death penalty. — (FREEMAN)
