LTO, LTFRB submit budget for lot purchase and office buildings

CEBU, Philippines - The Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) have submitted their respective budget proposal to the Regional Development Council for the lot acquisition and construction of their offices in Central Visayas.

The Infrastructure Development Committee of RDC-7 reviewed the budget proposal and will recommend for the inclusion in the 2014 appropriation of the national government.

The LTO has submitted more than P1 billion while LTFRB has submitted P80.6 million.

For lot acquisition, the LTO-7 will spend a total of P350 million for its regional office including the district office, licensing center, operations division and impounding area in Cebu City in the amount of P150 million.

Mandaue City district office and Talisay City extension office will cost P60 million each; P40 million for Toledo City district office and P10 million for Carcar City district office.

Lot acquisition for Tagbilaran City district office also need P16 million and P7 million for Jagna district office, all in Bohol Province while P7 million also for Dumaguete City district office in Negros Oriental.

For its building construction, the LTO needs P678 million for the regional office including district office, licensing center and operations division in Cebu City amounting to P180 million; P90 million each for the district offices in the cities of Mandaue, Talisay and Carcar; and P60 million for Toledo City district office.

The LTO also needs P60 million for the building construction in Tagbilaran City and P48 million for Jagna district office in Bohol Province and another P60 million for Dumaguete City district office.

For the rehabilitation of buildings, the LTO needs P10.2 million for the extension of records room of administrative division in Cebu City amounting to P2.2 million; P2 million each for Cebu City licensing center, regional office, Cebu City district office and operations division.

LTO-7 administrator Aden Belza told the IDC that they will prioritize the construction of building such as their regional office and in Toledo City.

The LTFRB also needs P30 million for the lot purchase and P50 million for the construction of its regional office building in Cebu city and P60,000 for its computer interconnectivity project.

The RDC-7 is set to endorse the budget proposal during its full council meeting this month. (FREEMAN)
