Body fished out of San Fernando waters
CEBU, Philippines - The body of a 67-year-old man was found floating off the shoreline in barangay Panadtaran, San Fernando town last Friday afternoon.
It was confirmed later on that the body is that of Jose Caño, a resident of barangay Tongo in the said town.
Initial investigation conducted by the police had it that the victim left their house at around noontime purportedly to catch fish.
At around 5 p.m., he was found floating on the waters off Panadtaran by barangay tanod Felipe Basco, Jr. who immediately informed his family of the incident.
The body was taken to the Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes for autopsy, though the family of the victim is certain that there is no foul play involved.
SPO1 Francisco Salobre pointed out it is possible that the victim was under the influence of alcohol or that because he is a farmer by trade he may not be that familiar at all with fishing. — Antoniette T. Parce/MEEV (FREEMAN NEWS)
