Alleged Talisay pushers nabbed

Two men were arrested recently in sitio Hawod, barangay Bulacao for possession of substance believed to be shabu, and other paraphernalia.

The suspects were identified as Arnold Catubay, 31, married, jobless and a resident of barangay Tabunok, Talisay City and Mikeson Bolsier, 21, single and a resident of barangay Bulacao.

In a search operation conducted by the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group led by SPO4 Ernesto Anabales, the team confiscated a medium plastic pack, three longitudinal plastic packs, and another 18 packs of what was believed to be shabu, an improvised shotgun, a live ammunition, one unit surveillance camera, a digital weighing scale, and cash amounting to P1,140 from the house of Bolsier.

The surveillance camera was found outside of the house of Bolsier. He later denied he set the camera outside.

“Laing tawo nagbutang ana diha,” he said.

Police Supt. Erson Digal, deputy provincial director, disclosed that Catubay has been using three different names.

In an interview, Catubay, a.k.a. Doods said that he was detained before for illegal possession of dangerous drugs but was freed from prison after he had posted bail.

He was alleged to have been disposing illegal drugs within Talisay City.

Bolsier, who claimed to be a computer technician dropout, said that he has no previous criminal records. He further said that the confiscated shotgun was from his father.

“Kabilin na’s akong Papa ang shotgun,” he said.

The confiscated drugs were taken to the PNP crime laboratory.

The suspects, on the other hand, are presently detained at the Cebu Provincial Police Office. – Joy Kareen T. Saliente/MEEV
