CEBU, Philippines —  Through time, light has been a symbol of truth, goodness and hope. This holiday season, the metro’s leading malls and hotels take on the uplifting cadence with their Christmas Tree lighting ceremonies – evens that give a truthfully good and hopeful symbolism in these challenging times.

Various local government units and residential developments in Cebu ushered in the holiday season by hosting Christmas Tree lighting ceremonies last week.

The Fuente Osmeña Circle’s “Tree of Hope”

Life-size angel decorations and a base inspired by the structure housing the Cross of Magellan are among the highlights of the 32-meter “Tree of Hope,” this year’s Christmas Tree at the Fuente Osmeña Circle.

Lit on December 1 in a ceremony led by Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella, Cebu City Vice Mayor Mike Rama and M Lhuillier Financial Services president and CEO Michael Lhuillier, this year’s lighting marks its 23rd year as one of Cebu City’s highly anticipated annual holiday traditions.
