AFP Civic Action Medical & Tree Planting Mission

For the first time in the region, a united AFP Civic Action mission participated by the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and AFRESCOM personnel was held recently.The mission provided medical, dental, legal, spiritual counseling, optical, minor surgery, plus storytelling and feeding for children with the support of sectoral stakeholders engaged in our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish, Hinayagan, Minglanilla, Cebu. About 1,200 people availed of the services during the civic action held at the Our Lady of the Rosary gym.

Meanwhile, the 1901 Reserve Brigade led by its commander, Col. Erik Espina, conducted a mangrove-planting and coastal clean-up in Barangay Dumlog, Talisay City. Some 1,500 mangrove trees were planted and 80 sacks of garbage were collected by the USJ-R cadets who heartily volunteered for the activity.

This project is one of the civic actions lined up by the Reserve Force this year, said Col. Espina.5 - The volunteers happily ended their day at the Talisay City beach.
