Vincent's 50th Birthday

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor S. YNCLINO -

“Love is patient, Love is kind (Cor. 13:4). And to all the MOTHERS  in the world, may this day bring you many special blessings…moments bright with promise, and memories warm with love. May God’s blessings be yours today and everyday of your life. Happy Mother’s Day!

A month before his birthday, Vincent Yu (his roots are from Davao and Cebu) had already sent  invites to his relatives and close friends that  he was celebrating his 50th birthday.  And so last April 3, Vincent  and wife Gemma hosted  a big dinner celebration held at the Salo Salo restaurant in Cerritos City. Some sixty relatives and friends turned out during this momentous occasion as Vincent said…you only become fifty once and that’s it!

Of course the Habhab group was in full attendance headed by Dr. Letty Du with sister Linda and nephew Andrew, Edwin and Rosie Du, Jessie and Ginna Rama with children Vicente and Aissa, Tony and Connie Chua with daughter Joy, Karl and Emma Lewis,  Edgar and Gemmar Kaw with Mom GT, Gerry and Fiza Du with son Jason and sis Felicia, and Gemma’s Mom Vianie with daughters Aida, Lyn and Gloria, and a special guest, Dr. Mary Poblete Chan, an Ob-Gyn practitioner in Cebu who attended  a conference in Florida but stopped over in California to visit sister Rosie whose husband  Edwin  is  the cousin of the birthday boy. With her were her daughters Megan and Tracy who were enjoying their day at Disneyland .  Nothing  fabulous  with the celebration…  it was just plain dinner but with the camaraderie among the Cebuano friends  and relations,  the party lasted until eleven in the evening.
