Hail Theresians! Kudos to Batch ’83!

IN TO THE SCENE - Han Kintanar -

One very happy occasion I must say is a reunion of childhood friends.  And one very admirable gesture is thanking people who have devoted their hearts and souls in molding us to become better individuals.

This was exactly what happened when gold-hearted and accomplished Theresians from Saint Theresa’s College Batch ’83 in the persons of Congresswoman Ann K. Hofer, Atty. Me-anne Roa, Honey Pimentel-Arayata and Atty. Anna Marie Corominas de Wit invited their classmates to dinner last July 25 at the Grand Ballroom of the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel.  The occasion was especially dedicated to their great teachers who also gamely joined the batch in a night of endless reminiscing, laughing, chatting and singing.  While at the sideline, it was truly a delightful sight and I was specifically amused by my few pick-ups of their signature “Taglish” lines reflective of Theresians’ down-to-earth attitude.  (Remember this famous line...”making tusok tusok the fishballs”?)  Adding glitter to the occasion were Cebu’s very young soprano, Yentel Marie Beltran (who was definitely stunning in a Peewee Senining masterpiece!) and tenor Dave Sibonga with no less than Yentel’s mom, Madam Naila Ylaya-Beltran as the show’s director who provided entertainment for the group before a dazzling display of fireworks to end the memorable occasion.

To STC Batch ’83, keep the fire burning. Hail Theresians!
