Mark Herras comes clean on 3-month-old daugther

- Ricky L. Calderon - The Freeman

In last Sunday’s episode of “Startalk,” Mark Herras admitted that he is already a father to a three-month old baby girl. The Kapuso star of “Rhodora X” revealed that he sired a child out of wedlock but he and the baby’s mom are no longer together.

The baby was born last November. The mom is Mark’s senior handler and five years older than the first grand winner of GMA-7’s reality-based artista search “Starstruck.”

Mark said that he and the baby’s mom agreed to support the kid’s needs and both are after the baby’s well-being, like how she will be brought up. However, Mark and the baby’s mom did not discuss the status of their relationship. They are just after the needs of their child. If in the future he and the child’s mom decide to get back together, they will just allow time to take its natural course.

Mark admitted he was afraid his career might be affected because he is an unwed father, that’s why he decided not to reveal the matter to the public but just to people close to him. But at this point, he believes it’s about time he talked about his daughter since he can’t bear to lie about it anymore. He decided to tell the truth since he is proud of his first baby.

He also said sorry to his former girlfriend Ynna Asistio. The two parted ways last July allegedly because Ynna got wind of Mark’s indiscretion.

Mark said he owes Ynna an apology because baby Ada was conceived when he and Ynna were still an item. With his revelation, Mark joins the list of showbiz names who had babies before marriage.

Marian Rivera is a real trouper. This was the reaction of people from PETA when they invited the lead actress of “Carmela” to watch the musical “Rak of Aegis.” When Marian was asked by one of the cast members to come up onstage and offered her a sip of “Baha Juice,” the beauteous actress readily obliged.

According to someone involved in the production, not everyone who gets invited to come up onstage had the same courage as Marian to drink the “baha juice,” called as it is in the play because it is inspired by the play’s locale which is Marikina but submerged in water. It was Marian’s break from all the crying scenes in her new series “Carmela” and she wanted to enjoy the night. Marian is a big fan of the Aegis Band and she did not want to miss the chance to watch a stage musical whose songs were inspired by big hats of actors who appear in foreign movies.

This musicale enters its final week run at PETA. It stars Aicelle Santos, Isay Alvarez, Robert Seña and Jerald Napoles, among others.

Ogie Alcasid says the unique concept of “Confessions of a Torpe,” the new series on TV5, made him decide to accept the male lead in the series that also stars Gelli de Belen, Alice Dixson, Wendell Ramos, among many others.

“This is a romantic-comedy that you can watch every day. If you are tired of watching teleseryes, now you can switch channels and watch ‘Confessions of A Torpe,’’’ says Ogie of the new show where he is reunited with former “Bubble Gang” co-star, Wendell. The show premieres on March 3, replacing “Madame Chairman.”

The series follows the story of Tupe (Ogie), a certified torpe who, despite being the perfect gentleman, cannot make his move to win the heart of his muse, the gorgeous Monique Salcedo (Alice).

After spending her time chasing her dreams, Monique returns to the Philippines to try something that she has never been successful before – love—which gives Tupe another chance. Ogie believes the show will have a strong appeal to the public in general.
