Chamber Beat: CCCI, DTI launch KMME-MME online program for tourism mentees

CEBU, Philippines —  The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) in partnership with DTI Philippines and Philippine Center for entrepreneurship (PCE) successfully launched the KMME-MME Online program for the Tourism Sector on July 2 via Zoom.

48 new mentees from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Central Visayas are set to undergo the free intensive business mentorship program consisting of 10 modules.

The mentees are owners, co-owners and managers from the tourism industries engaged in transport services, travel and tours, restaurant and hotels/accommodation services.

The program was graced by DTI 7 Director Maria Elena Arbon, DTI Regional Operations Group USec Blesila Lantayona, Philippine Center Entrepreneurship - Go Negosyo Mentor Coordinator for Western Mindanao, Pocholo Soliven, and Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Felix Taguiam.

The tourism batch is comprised of 14 MSMEs each from Bohol, Cebu and Negros Oriental, and 6 from Siquijor which will join the roll of about 800 KMME graduates in the region since 2016.

The program is now gearing towards its 3rd Module on Business Model Canvass with Dr. Leonor Rene S. Caneja, AYACCA Realty & Development Incorporated Senior Managing Principal, as mentor.
