CEBU, Philippines —  Ayala Group’s hotel brand Seda opened its flagship property in Cebu, eight months after Cebu City Marriott Hotel closed.

The Seda Ayala Center Cebu has retained the same facilities and amenities offered previously by Marriott in the same building, what has changed are the interior fixtures, and service standards, said Seda group general manager Andrea Mastellone in an interview.

Seda Ayala Cebu initially opened a hundred rooms since August 19 and targets to have the rest of the rooms operational by the middle of this month.

The hotel has a total of 301 rooms. It targets to appeal to the business and leisure travelers.

Function rooms, and food and beverage outlets like the anchor restaurant Mistro, are already operating.

According to Mastellone the hotel will have its first function on September 1.

The Seda brand, which entered into the hospitality industry in 2012, is focusing its move on establishing properties in locations that lacked or needed modern hotel facilities such as Bonifacio Global City, Cagayan de Oro and Davao. It also established presence in Nuvali in Laguna, Iloilo, Quezon City and recently Bacolod.

Seda Ayala Center Cebu’s guest rooms, function rooms and amenities are all newly-refurbished.
