Wilcon Builders opens two outlets in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - Manila-based construction and building materials provider Wilcon Builders is putting up two depots in Cebu to take advantage of the fast growing real estate industry here.

The Wilcon Depots are strategically located in Lawaan, Talisay City, and UN Avenue in Mandaue City. Wilcon Talisay will have its grand opening on December 7 while the Mandaue outlet is scheduled end of December or early January 2013. 

The 35-year-old construction and building supplies provider which has now a total of 30 branches nationwide has seen the profitable market for these particular market segment despite the fierce competition.

In a press conference held yesterday at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, Wilcon Builders chief operations officer (COO) and executive vice president Rosemarie B. Ong said that the entry of Wilcon in Cebu is aimed at providing wider options for the Cebuano market while upgrading the standard in terms of brand availability and construction supply shopping experience.

“We offer a brand new shopping experience with emphasis on ease and convenience. We adapted to Cebu what we have been successfully doing for 35 years, helping consumers not only in realizing their big ideas but also in providing solutions in their home improvement and building needs,” said Ong.

Wilcon Depot  in Talisay City, which is now open for business, is situated in a 8,000 square-meter area, while the Mandaue branch   will have a total of 6,500 square-meter  shopping space. 

The company is bringing its significant investment in Cebu, while giant real estate developers in the country are also putting in their multi-billion pesos projects here, both in commercial and residential developments.

As of 2012, Wilcon already has a total of five traditional Wilcon Supply outlets in Metro Manila, one in Davao City and 20 well-known Wilcon Depots nationwide.

The company also launched two Wilcon Home Essentials stores inside Alimall and Wilcon City Center in Metro Manila recently.  — (FREEMAN)
