Bianca in giant third-round slide

Bianca Pagdanganan

MANILA, Philippines — Bianca Pagdanganan stumbled big-time in the third round of the JM Eagle LA Championship with a six-over 77 to crash out of the Top 14 and into the near bottom Saturday in California.

It was a sharp decline for the Filipina ace, who started with a sizzling 67 for joint eighth then slowed down with a 73 for a six-spot slide before a horrible moving day output that pulled her down to tied 68th.

Through 54 holes, Pagdanganan is at four-over 217 - 11 off the leading 206 cards of defending champion Hannah Green and fellow Australian Grace Kim, who submitted a 70 and 76, respectively, in the third.

After firing a birdie on No. 2, Pagdanganan found herself in a downward spiral, shooting a quadruple bogey on the par-4 No. 3, a bogey on No. 5, a double-bogey on No. 6 and another bogey on No. 9 for a woeful frontside 42.

She submitted an improved 35 at the back nine, birdying the 13th and 14th before dropping a shot on No. 15.

Pagdanganan hit 11 of 18 fairways but missed 10 greens, finishing her round with 30 putts.
