Acer Phl bags 2014 Microsoft Partner Award

MANILA, Philippines - Acer Philippines, the local arm of global IT Acer Inc., announced that it received the 2014 Microsoft Partner Award in recognition of its loyal and trusted subscription to the Microsoft Windows operating systems attached to its computer products and devices over the years.

Dio Vasquez, senior product manager/product management head of Acer Philippines, said Microsoft has recognized Acer’s great works in achieving consistencies in growth rate in the overall PC market and selling more genuine Microsoft Operating Systems attached to Acer devices. “This is a synergy of Microsoft and Acer in developing the right programs for our channel partners and ultimately to our end consumers.”

The Microsoft Partner Award is a yearly effort of Microsoft Philippines to honor its partners’ great achievements and contributions to Microsoft — distributors, resellers and OEM partners alike.

 “The 33-percent year-on-year growth is a significant achievement considering the current PC market situation we are facing since 2011,” Vasquez said. “Moreover, the tablet market is dominated by iOS and Android operating systems. Acer has been a strong partner of Microsoft in developing and growing the Windows tablet in the Philippines having exponential growth in this segment. We believe that customers want a more reliable and productive device, and Acer Windows tablet will be able to satisfy that need.”

Vasquez noted that the company has set its sights on continuing its partnership with Microsoft Philippines, with the goal of mutual growth in the IT industry.

“We believe that we can be able to sustain what we have started. We have great products, good support from our industry partners like Microsoft, our channel partners’ support and our end-customers’ loyalty to our brand,” he added.  “The synergy will definitely be there because Microsoft has been very supportive to us, and together we can achieve our common goal—to bring the right products to our customers.”
