Latest pool technology helps minimize power consumption

MANILA, Philippines - The power rate hike is seen to significantly affect all businesses, among them, resorts.

However, Villa Rivera Wave Resort manager Rina Siega has found an innovative solution to greatly reduce the resort’s electricity consumption — the latest, most advanced wave machine technology introduced in the country, the Wave Ball.

According to Richard Cariño, president of Crystal Blue Enterprises Inc. who installed the Wave Ball, the resort will only shell out a measly P14 per hour in operating the wave machine — which is equivalent to the price of a 250-milliliter tetra packed juice.

“By equipping the resort with the world’s only intelligent and energy-efficient wave machine ever invented in the world and made in Belgium, their monthly electricity bill will be greatly reduced. Traditional and more common wave machines are very power hungry and have numerous maintenance issues, specifically those being powered by surplus diesel engines,” Cariño said.

“Our Wave Ball is made upon order with guaranteed new parts, that’s why we can give one-year warranty plus another one-year warranty for a total of two years. Soon we will offer a three-year extended warranty program for only a small premium. Certainly a total of five-year warranty will surely give the resort owner absolute peace of mind for his investment with fast return on investment due to its very low power consumption,” he added.

To minimize the high power cost brought on by traditional wave machines, other resorts reduce the operations of their machines to a short period of time, greatly diminishing the enjoyment of their customers.

As part of its services, Crystal Blue Enterprises also offers another efficient and innovative technology, which is the seawater conversion, converting a resort’s pool into seawater.

“This means no need to buy expensive drums of chlorine. The device is easily installed and sea salt will be added to the pool until it reaches the desired level. Seawater’s benefits are: no more bad chlorine smell, no more red eyes, and the water is good for the skin and hair unlike freshwater chlorine-based pools,” Cariño said.

The company is a second generation of pool specialists, starting with Cariño’s parents in the late 70s. On top of providing professional pool care services, it also offers unique pool technologies such as the robotic pool cleaner, a device from Australia that vacuums and brushes the pool that comes with three-year warranty; and  the Powerjet, a non-stop swimming machine.
