Women in power

Beth Gomez, Las Damas de Rizal-Philippines (LDR-Philippines) national vice president Judy Savares and national president Amalia Rosales with Maricel Morales

An organization of Filipino women has vowed to use their authority and influence to turn the Philippines into a land of peace and prosperity. Named Las Damas de Rizal-Philippines, the inspiring Filipinas from France, Belgium, Italy, Czech Republic and the Philippines recently convened in Manila to affirm their role in nation- building as inspired by the teachings of our national hero, Jose Rizal. The conference, given the theme Women in Power: Authority and Influence, was led by educator Dr. Amalia Rosales as na- tional president and businesswoman Judy Savares as vice president. The Las Damas de Rizal-Philippines was formed in 2013 at the initiative of former Order of the Knights of Rizal (OKOR) supreme commander sir Reghis Romero II to heed the call of Filipina members from the organization’s chapters across the globe. Congratulations to the Las Damas de Rizal for a successful conference!
