The brightest names in Finance

Honoring the finest finance educators in the country, the Business Education committee of FINEX Foundation chaired by ATR KimEng’s Rene Leveriza joined by 2008 liaison trustee Grace Palma Tiongco in partnership with Citi Philippines led by country corporate affairs director Lilibeth Fajardo, recently named the FINEX-CITI Rafael B. Buenaventura Outstanding Finance Educator Awardee at the executive business center of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). The list include doctor Leila Calderon-Kabigting, doctor Venus Ibarra, Vivian Noble-Pascual, and Daniel Vincent Borja, who bagged the Most Outstanding Finance Educator award. A special citation was also given to Jesusa Tee-Domingo for imaginative and innovative approach to education. Congratulations!

Fabulous musicals all year-round

Delighting the Metro South once again, the FILFEST Cultural Foundation proudly showcases its Season 2 offerings with a spectacular line-up of musical performances every Saturdays, 8 p.m. at the Insular Life Theater in Alabang. The FILFEST 2009 schedule is as follows:

April 25 - the Inaugural Gala: “Of Emperors & Czars” with Giancarlo Gonzales, cello; FILharmoniKA; and Gerard Salonga, conductor.

June 20 - Concert II: “FIL-AMeriKA” with Marian Liebowitz, clarinet; Dena Fernandez, marimba; FILharmoniKA; and Jeffrey Meyer, conductor.

August 8 - Concert III: “Pluck & Struck” with Perfecto De Castro, guitar; Ruben Reyes, guitar; Aries Cases, piano; Jovianney Emmanuel Cruz, piano; FILFEST Festival Orchestra; and Agripino Diestro, conductor;

September 26 - Concert IV: “Muzika” with Clarion Chamber Ensemble and Nuevo Flamenco Manila.

November 14 - Concert V: “Harana” with Philippine Opera Company in celebration of Insular Life’s 99th Anniversary.

A spectacular golfing experience

The entrancing mountain and pine forest scenery of Camp John Hay (CJH) in Baguio was the backdrop for the 21st Corporate Cup which was led by CJH Development Corp. (CHJDevco) chairman Bob Sobrepeña, officer in charge Freddie Alquiros, senior vice president for marketing and public relations Shean Bedi and CJH Golf Club general manager Tim Allen. The successful invitational tournament was followed by an awards dinner party held at the spectacular The Suites Hotel. Congratulations to all the winners and participants in the tournament and the Camp John Hay staff for a job well done!

The new FCCP president

Well-known civic leader and philanthropist Minerva Tanseco was recently elected as the new president of the cause-oriented group Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines (FCCP) for 2009. The induction ceremony will be held on April 15 in Le Souffle, Rockwell. Congratulations!
