MANILA, Philippines — Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. met with business tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan, chairman of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC), to discuss plans for significant investments in agriculture to support the government's food security goals.

The meeting, attended by MPIC Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Chaye Cabal-Revilla, and MPIC Director for Government & Public Affairs Mike Toledo, focused on collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors to enhance sustainable farming practices and boost local food production.

The key topics of discussion included the Board of Investment's spotlight on two major projects: a modern vegetable greenhouse in Bulacan and an integrated dairy farm in Laguna.

The projects aim to transform farming methods, promote sustainability and contribute to national food security.
