Tian Xiwei, Song Weilong named People’s Choice at 2026 Korea OTT awards
MANILA, Philippines — C-drama stars Tian Xiwei and Song Weilong earned loud cheers after winning the People’s Choice Award at the Korea International Streaming Festival OTT Awards 2026 in Busan, South Korea.
Tian and Song won the female and male categories, respectively, of the People’s Choice Award.
Song was cited for his work in the 2025 drama "Shine on Me," where he played a neurosurgeon forced to leave the medical field after a tragedy.
The actor, whose other popular works include "Go Ahead," "In a Class of Her Own" and "Youthful Glory," greeted the Busan crowd with "Annyeong haseyo" before giving his acceptance speech.
Tian, meanwhile, introduced herself in English.
“Hello everyone. My name is Tian Xiwei. I come from China and I’m an actress. It’s great to be here,” the actress said before giving her acceptance speech.
Global hit
Tian was cited for her work in the massive global hit "Pursuit of Jade," opposite Zhang Linghe. The 2026 drama, which aired its finale in March, debuted on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English Shows chart.
Tian portrayed Fan Changyu, a butcher’s daughter with superhuman strength who rescues a badly injured warrior with a secret identity.
Song was also nominated in the Best Actor category alongside South Korea's Kim Seon-ho for "Can This Love Be Translated," Hyun Bin for "Made in Korea," Japan's Ryoma Takeuchi for "Then You Try Making It" and Taiwan's Tseng Jing-hua for "Had I Not Seen the Sun." Tseng won the category.
Tian, meanwhile, was nominated in the Best Actress category, which was won by South Korea's Shin Hae-sun for her performance in the K-drama "The Art of Sarah."
Other nominees were Japanese actress Ko Shibasaki for "Scandal Eve" and South Koreans Kim Yoo-jung for "Dear X" and Park Bo-young for "Gold Land." The Philippines' Angelica Panganiban was also nominated for her performance in "The Silent Noise."
The festival also saw winners from other countries, including Japan and Thailand, as well as the Philippines' "The Silent Noise," starring Angelica, as Best Asian Content.
The awards show was held in the Outer Theater of Busan Cinema Center on June 20.
