EMotors partners with Globe, W Group for e-vehicle shuttle

MANILA, Philippines — Electric vehicle maker EMotors Inc. has entered into a partnership with Globe Telecom and the W Group to create a benchmark for cashless payment for private electric transport in the country.

EMotors said the collaboration with the W Group and Globe’s financial technology units GCash and Mynt leverages on three factors, namely innovative technology, clean sustainable electric transport and the demand for quick point-to-point mobility that relieves employee stress and commuting pain points.

“Together, the companies provide access for an innovative, seamless, cashless, convenient and sustainable eco-system where employees of the partner companies can ride on their clean, green, ZÜM e-mobility shuttle to and from their workplace, to a specific point such as the mall to do their shopping and dining, all using the convenience of GCash to suit their needs,” EMotors said.

The Züm e-Series is an electric tricycle or e-trike line developed by EMotors for personal and business use.

Under the collaboration, the private electric mobility shuttle will serve the transport needs of the tenants and employees of the parties involved.

EMotors said the e-shuttle is an employee benefit which meets the companies’ aim for high retention rate, while meeting common sustainability initiatives that include lowering carbon footprint and climate change mitigation.

“The partnership serves as a great opportunity to showcase a benchmark where visionary leaders and the companies they lead play a key role in solving problems in an innovative and sustainable way,” EMotors chief executive officer Elizabeth Lee said.

“Together, we co-create a better future that puts importance on technological innovation and sustainable transport that makes for a better work life for employees,” Lee added.

Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu welcomed the partnership, saying it not only adds convenience and security, but also gives rider employees the multiple benefits technology brings.

“It’s a win-win for all where the companies, their employees, and the city benefit from the e-shuttle program,” said Francis Wee, W Group Inc. CEO.
