Seminar on financial statements

MANILA, Philippines - How to make sense of financial reports is the typical challenge faced by decision-makers.  While many can read financial statements, only few can correctly interpret and analyze the numbers to make the right decisions in board and management meetings.

To help decision makers master financial statements, the Center for Global Best Practices will hold a seminar titled “How to really read financial statements for board directors and decision-makers,” on Sept. 7 and 8 at The EDSA Shangri-La Manila, Mandaluyong City.

The two-day program aims to help participants learn how to interpret the external auditors’ opinion as well as the footnotes and disclosures in annual reports. Participants are also expected to learn useful skills in investment decisions for their company and even in choosing stocks in the capital markets.

The program will feature Jonathan Ravelas, chief market strategist of BDO.

His valuable insights and analysis on the financial performance of companies and the equities market are well sought after with his commentaries appearing in Asian Wallstreet Journal, Business World and Philippine Daily Inquirer and televised interviews on ANC, Bloomberg and BBC.  Also featured is Mary Jane Rosales, CPA, CIA, former president of The Institute of Internal Auditors in the Philippines (2008).
