MANILA, Philippines - Go Hotels Tacloban, owned by Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC), has reopened its doors after the onslaught of Super Typhoon Yolanda last November that affected a large part of the Leyte province.
Go Hotels is situated in Brgy. Marasbaras, one of the places least ravaged by Yolanda, and is the site of the Robinsons complex. Strategically located on higher ground, the hotel has completed its interior refurbishments and was unveiled last May 16.
“Go Hotels Tacloban has reopened its doors ready to help those needing a base for their undertakings, may it be commercial or charitable. We offer basic services that include facilities for sleep and rest, bathing, eating and a secure and safe place to be in and leave things; so that everyone can go on and do what they came to accomplish in the first place,†Go Hotels chain general manager Liz Gregorio said.
The hotel has a 50-seater function room that could accommodate business meeting and gatherings. Money changer and travel agency are also available and the hotel’s close proximity to the airport makes it more convenient to stay in, the company said.
“With no worries for a place to stay, business people who are picking up the pieces of their respective undertakings or starting anew, as well as those who have volunteered their time, resources, and presence to rebuild Tacloban can focus on their main activities and accomplish their mission,†Gregorio said.
Furthermore, the company added that full operations of the Robinsons complex would begin on June. RLC hopes that the reopening would create a surge of hope for other entrepreneurs to follow through and help Tacloban rise from the disaster.
