MANILA, Philippines — A South Korean court has sentenced a Brazilian woman to one year in prison, suspended for two years, after finding her guilty of stalking BTS member Jungkook and trespassing at his residence.

According to a BBC report, court records show that the woman repeatedly visited Jungkook's home in Seoul's Yongsan District between December 2025 and early January 2026.

During one incident, she allegedly rang the singer's doorbell 133 times in a single evening. The woman was initially arrested and warned by police to stay away from the property. Despite the warning and a subsequent emergency order prohibiting her from coming within 100 meters of Jungkook's residence, she continued returning to the area, leading to additional charges.

In its ruling, the court said the repeated violations demonstrated an "extreme level of obsession." While the sentence was suspended, meaning she will avoid serving prison time unless she reoffends during the probation period, authorities are also expected to pursue deportation proceedings once the judgment becomes final.

Previously, Jungkook warned during a livestream that trespassers would be caught immediately.

"If you show up, I’ll lock you in. I’ve got the evidence, and you’ll be taken away. Everything is recorded. If you step into the parking lot of my home, you won’t be able to leave unless I open the door for you," Jungkook said.

"There are cameras everywhere. If you don’t want to be dragged to the police station, do not enter," he added.

The case has renewed discussions about the safety and privacy of public figures, particularly in the entertainment industry, where celebrities have increasingly become targets of stalking and harassment.

Fans and advocacy groups have called for stronger protections and stricter enforcement of anti-stalking laws to safeguard artists and other public figures.
