Binay nagbabala sa text scam
MANILA, Philippines - Nagbabala kahapon ang Office of the Vice President (OVP) laban sa isang text scam na nagsasabing nanalo ang mga nakatanggap ng nasabing text message sa isang raffle na sponsored ng isang Millionaires’ Club para kay Vice President Jejomar Binay.
“This is a scam and it is unfortunate that there are some people who would choose to use the name of the Vice President to deceive their fellow Filipinos,” pahayag ng Chief of Staff ni Binay na si Benjamin Martinez.
Ayon kay Martinez kabilang sa mga umiikot sa text message ay ganito: NOTICE) Ur simcrd # Won P750,000.00 n 2nd Anv, PreRaffle Drw. 08/02/2010 From: Millionires club 4 vice president. Binay pls call me Sec L. PINEDA. Ang numero ng sender naman ay 09269696182.
“We do not know this Mr. Pineda nor is he connected with the Office of the Vice President. We have asked the proper authorities to look into the matter. We will not tolerate such acts and we will see to it that this issue will be resolved,” pahayag ni Martinez.
Pinayuhan rin ni Martinez ang publiko na huwag na lang pansinin ang nasabing text message at agad na ipagbigay alam sa mga service providers na nakatanggap sila ng naturang text.
Hiniling na ng OVP sa Globe Telecom na i- ban ang numerong gamit ng mga scammers.
