Osmeña,Ong gikiha sa whistleblower

CEBU, Philippines —  Giawhag sa whistleblower nga si Crisologo Saavedra ang Office of the Ombudsman nga imbestigaran sila si Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña ug Kasambagan Barangay Captain Franklyn Ong kinsa maoy tag-iya sa Pasajero Motors Corporation (Pamocor).

Kini tungod sa pagsulod ni Osmeña og kontrata tali kang Ong nga usa ka public official ug tag-iya sa Pamocor diin matod pa kalapasan kini sa Republic Act 6713 kun Code of Conduct  and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, Conflict of interest ug Section 7, Prohibited Acts and Transactions ug Republic Act 3019, Anti-graft and Corrupt Practices of Public Officials.

Giklaro ni Saavedra nga wala’y nagsugo niya aron buhaton kini.

 “I will not include the city council because the city council is just giving authority to Tomas to sign the contract but not to approve, it was Tomas who signed the award, it is the person who signed the award is responsible,” asoy ni Saavedra.

Samtang si Osmeña miinsister nga legal ang transaksyon sa Pamocor ug sa kagamhanan sa siyudad sa Sugbo.

 “Just because I know him does that make it a crime. You know I’ve been mayor 30 years ago I know tens of thousands of people if I know them they cannot participate in the bid, it’s just like if you voted for me it’s a conflict of interest because I know you?  That’s stressing it too far, the important thing there was competition and there was no anomaly, not a special grant, did not take advantage of his position. Yes (legal), why will I do something that I think it’s illegal, I’m not crazy,” matud ni Osmeña.

Si Ong sa iyang bahin wala mabalaka sa kaso kay andam niya kining atubangon sa korte.

“He is entitled to his own opinion, actually much better sa proper forum na siya, mas may na siya kay ang mokuan ana kay sakto gyud, kaysa i-kuan ta trial by publicity at least there’s a proper forum, let them file so we can answer that in court,” sigon ni Ong.
