Kerwin nakombikto

CEBU, Philippines — Gikombikto sa kasong paglapas sa Omnibus Election Code ang giingong drug lord nga si Roland “Kerwin” Espinosa samtang gi-abswelto usab siya sa kasong illegal possession of firearms sa korte kagahapon.

Si Espinosa didto na sa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 23 kagahapon alang sa promulgation sa iyang duha ka kaso ubos sa sala ni Judge Germoso Labra.

Si Espinosa gipasuot og bullet proof vest, naka-jacket og army green ug nakasuot og kalo gilibotan sa mga sakop sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) paggawas sa Qimonda Building human siya gihukman kagahapon.

Ang iyang abogado nga si Atty. John Ungab (kinsa pagkataud-taod human sa interbyu sa media gibanhigan ug namatay sa gawas nga bahin sa korte),  nagkanayon nga naabswelto si Espinosa kay lisensyado ang armas niini. “Not guilty (illegal possession of firearms) naa man gud siyay license ato unya wala gi-declare sa mga polis. He has a licensed firearm. Ang drugs kay dismissed earlier mga 2012 pa.  It was related to the drugs because after his arrest allegedly a firearm was recovered on his possession,” matud ni Ungab.

Niadtong Marso 4, 2010 si Espinosa nakuhaan og armas; usa ka Norinco .45 cal. pistol, nga adunay magazine ug 12 ka bala.

Nadakpan siya atol nga adunay election gun ban. Si Espinosa gisilotan kini og usa ka tuig nga pagkapriso.

“The court finds accused Roland E. Espinosa guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of Violation of Comelec Resolution 8714 for which he is hereby sentenced to suffer a straight penalty of one (1) year imprisonment,” pagbasa sa desisyon sa korte.

“For lack of sufficient evidence and on ground of reasonable doubt, accused is hereby acquitted for the crime illegal possession of firearm and ammunition in violation of R.A. 8294,” ang desisyon miingon. (BANAT NEWS)
