MANILA, Philippines — As Creamline extended their season in the Premiere Volleyball League Reinforced Conference semis, assistant coach Sherwin Meneses still does not think the Cool Smashers have solved the Bali Pure puzzle.

Tuesday’s 24-26, 25-18, 18-25, 25-16, 16-14 win was Creamline’s first against Bali Pure in the entire conference, losing their first three encounters.

“Hindi pa naman (na-solve) kasi syempre, ‘yung Bali Pure malakas talaga ‘yung blocking nila kasi halos iisa ang height ng mga all-Filipino nila,” Meneses told reporters.

Meneses admitted that Creamline coaches are still figuring out import Laura Schaudt’s position in the team’s rotation.

The 6-foot-5 Schaudt manned the middle in the first two games of the semis, even though she initially wanted to play opposite hitter.

“Talagang nagustuhan niya ‘yung center kasi wala namang magagawa,” Meneses said. “Kailangan mag-adjust, si (Jennifer) Keddy ang laki talaga, hindi aabot ‘yung iba,” Meneses noted.

Coming into Game Three, Meneses hopes the team commits fewer errors, especially in service reception.

“(Depende sa) situation na lang. Doon na lang maga-adjust. Sana ‘yung adjustment namin last time, gumana hanggang sa next,” he said. - Randell Angelo B. Ritumalta
