Alleged drug dealer slain, 22 arrested
MANILA, Philippines - A suspected drug dealer was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Taguig City on Sunday.
Jonathan Requil, 29, was shot by an undetermined number of gunmen in Barangay South Daanghari at around 5 p.m., said Chief Superintendent Tomas Apolinario, Southern Police District director.
Meanwhile, a total of 22 people were arrested for drug offenses in various police operations in the cities of Taguig and Makati over the weekend.
Seventeen people were arrested from around 12:05 a.m.to 3 p.m. Sunday in Barangays, Hagonoy, Napindan, Ibayo Tipas and New Lower Bicutan.
Among them are Levi Angono, 51; Norberto Oboza, 34 and Cristopher Gulle, 30, three suspected users who were caught with several sachets of shabu in Barangay Hagonoy at around 3 p.m.
Meanwhile, three people were arrested in Barangay West Rembo, Makati on Sunday for drug trading. Jonathan Badua, 33, Milandro Alita, 38 and Dennis Valdez, 30, were caught selling shabu at around 3:30 a.m. at the corner of J.P. and Sir Baden Powell streets.
On Saturday, policemen captured Jobert Idahan, 40, a construction worker who was caught with three sachets of shabu in Barangay Southside at around 11:15 p.m.
Also in Makati, lawmen arrested 25-year-old Zoren Torres for possession of four sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia in Barangay Olympia at around 7 p.m.
