Donaire, Magdaleno to promote fight in LA presser
MANILA, Philippines – WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr. and prospect Jessie Magdaleno will get to size each other up for the first time when they promote their November 5 at a presser in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Top Rank Inc. is hosting the press conference at The Conga Room in Los Angeles to announce the Donaire-Magdaleno clash, which will be included in the undercard of Manny Pacquiao’s showdown with Jessie Vargas.
Donaire (37-3, with 24 KOs) will defend his title against the undefeated Magdaleno (23-0, with 17 KOs), who at 24 years old is nine years younger than the Filipino-American.
Top Rank has decided to feature Donaire in the Pacquiao-Vargas card at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas in an effort to draw more interest from the Filipino community there.
It will be Donaire’s first outing since stopping Zsolt Bedak last April in Cebu City.
