Mangulabnan, BMW Motorrad retain superbikes titles

MANILA, Philippines - Marvin Mangulabnan claimed back-to-back top honors and led the BMW Motorrad Philippines Racing Team to its second title in Round 4 of the Pirelli Philippines Superbikes Championships recently at the Clark Speedway.

Starting second on the grid during the morning pre-final race, Mangulabnan fell several positions back after a near high-side at the chicane but worked his way up, overtaking each of the riders in front all the way to the checkered flag.

In the afternoon race, Mangulabnan once again started on secondd spot. After battling it out again with super bike racing big guns TJ Alberto (Ducati), Troy Alberto (Ducati), Raniel Resuello (Kawasaki), and Dashi Watanabe (Kawasaki), Mangulabnan emerged on top for another victory.

The next round of the 2016 PSBK Season is set Sept. 4 at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC) was appointed by the BMW Group as both importer and service provider of BMW cars in the country in 1993, and regained the franchise in 2009 including BMW Motorrad (motorcycles).
