Solaire hosts 5-day Poker festival

MANILA, Philippines -- In celebration of its first anniversary, the Solaire Poker Room follows up the success of the recent World Poker Tour Philippines with a five-day poker festival dubbed as "13th Month Bonus".

The event—highlighted by a Main Event where PhP3 million is up for grabs—runs from January 22-26 at the FORUM in the new wing of the Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City.

Aptly called the “13th Month Bonus”, the industry’s fastest rising newcomer spruces up the celebration with three Side Events leading up to the Main Event where a buy-in of only Php10,000 can turn the champion into a virtual overnight millionaire with PhP1 million going to the winner of this inaugural undertaking.

Qualifiers are presently ongoing daily starting 2:00PM at the Solaire Poker Room for a mere PhP1,100 with up to three seats available to aspirants.

The Solaire Poker Room has been open since December of 2013, so January 2015 is literally the thirteen month of operation. 

While many may think this is an unlucky number, promoter Mike Kim sees it otherwise.

"January is literally our thirteenth month,” explains Kim. “We saw it as an opportunity to give out a thirteenth-month bonus to our loyal players; many of whom will be playing the tournament for free as a reward for their play over the last year.  How unlucky is that?"

Participants are allowed a total of six re-entries, bolstering the chances of a huge payday with three Day1s (January 22-24) wherein up to two bullets can be fired. Day 2 offers the last re-entry opportunity.

The Side Events—No Limit Hold ‘Em (NLHE) Head Hunter, NLHE High Roller and Pot Limit Omaha (PLO)—will also be action packed as some of the most dynamic players in the country have already indicated their participation.

"We are looking forward to at least three hundred entries," Kim forecasts.  "A lot of players are flying in to play poker in the Philippines this latter half of January for a major event in Cebu, and a stop in Manila for our festival makes perfect travel sense."
