All-Stars, Generals, Raptors cruise into E-League semis

CEBU, Philippines - Stunned during their previous games, the twice-to-beat Teleperformance All-Stars, QBE Generals and Dyninno Raptors went on to finish off their foes in style to barge into the semifinals of the 12th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

In the Elite Classic, Dean Junber Escalon scattered 19 points and Karlo Miñoza had 12 as the All-Stars terminated the ePerformax Reds, 70-48.

It was an all-Teleformance show after it coasted to a 16-8 start. The All-Stars closed the first half with a 32-17 lead then further battered the Reds in the third canto to take an imposing 22-point bulge, 50-28, going into the final 10-minute mark of the contest.

In the Evo League, Johnrey Girasol had 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists and Christopher James Durango added 17 markers as the Generals bucked off an ice-cold start to oust the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs, 85-60, while Ignatius Loyola had a double-double show of 16 points and 13 rebounds as the Raptors kicked out the Kyocera Frontiers, 66-59.-

     The Generals trailed by 10 after the first period, 8-18, but staged a tide-turning 24-9 rally in the second quarter to seize the driver's seat at halftime, 32-27, for good.  QBE pounded the Lemurs in the third, 28-17, then closed the match with a 25-16 run to seal the 25-point blowout.
