3 slain in Calabarzon shootings

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna  , Philippines  —  Three persons were killed in separate shootings in Batangas, Cavite and Laguna over the weekend.

Kerwin Villanueva died at the scene while his companion Rainiel Sambaan was rushed to the Metro Lipa Medical Center for treatment.

The victims were walking in Barangay Lumbang, Lipa City when two motorcycle-riding men shot them.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the killing.

In Cavite, a man was found dead with a gunshot to the head in Barangay Toclong 2A, Imus City on Saturday.

On the same day, Ricardo Jufel was having dinner in an eatery in Barangay Marinig, Cabuyao City when an unidentified assailant shot him.

Jufel died while being taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police are eyeing an old grudge as the motive for the killing.
